Van Der Graaf Generator co-founder Judge Smith's 11th solo release is only his third full-length collection of songs in twenty years.

Guy Evans & Peter Hammill - The Union Chapel Concert (cd)

The Union Chapel Concert was a one-off event that brought together VDGG's Guy Evans and Peter Hammill plus several notable guests, including David Jackson, Hugh Banton, Manny Elias and Stuart Gordon.

Perhaps the surprise of this evening in 1997 was that not only did it re-unite the mid-1970s VDGG line-up for the first time in two decades, but that the band played the Van Der Graaf classic Lemmings.

Elsewhere, Evans/Hammill duo pieces are performed as are solo pieces by Hammill, Jackson and Gordon.

Van Der Graaf Generator - Trisector (cd)

The second album from the 21st Century incarnation of VDGG was without saxophonist David Jackson.

Reinventing themselves as a trio, the venerable sages of experimental Rock found fresh avenues to explore.

Contains the remarkable 12 minute autobiographical track, Over The Hill.

Van Der Graaf Generator - Present (double cd)

The celebrated 2005 album from VDGG's unexpected 21st Century return.

As uncompromising as ever and re-tooled for a new era, the band take up where they left off on 1976's masterful World Record.

Van Der Graaf Generator - H To He Who Am The Only One (cd)

The wonderfully titled H to He, from 1976, was the second album VDGG made for the famous Charisma label.

Including Killer and Pioneers Over C, the album is several shades darker than its two predecessors and remains one of the band's most popular.

Robert Fripp guests on The Emperor In His War-Room.

This is the 2005 re-master and contains two bonus tracks.

Van Der Graaf Generator - The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other (cd)

VDGG's Charisma label debut was equal parts beauty and chaos. Containing the lovely, anthemic Refugees, via the apocalyptic White Hammer and After The Flood, the album also introduced the world to the astonishing wall of noise dramatics that would reach a peak on Pawn Hearts.

This is the 2005 re-master.

Van Der Graaf Generator - The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome (cd)

The last studio album by Van Der Graaf for 28 years, The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome is a potent blend of stripped-down evocative ballads and lean muscular New Wave influenced, riff heavy Jazzy Prog,

This is the 2005 re-master and contains three bonus tracks, including the studio version of Wave.

Van Der Graaf Generator - Pawn Hearts (cd)

VDGG's incomparable 1971 masterpiece contains 45 minutes of Gothic, haunted house atmospherics and beautiful song fragments beaten into submission by lunatic, dissonant riffing.

A spellbinding achievement.

Digitally re-mastered edition featuring extra tracks.

Van Der Graaf Generator - H to HE - The Mug (mug)

The artwork from VDGG's magnificent 1970s Charisma label frightfest on an earthenware mug.

Van Der Graaf Generator - ALT (cd)

Following on from the huge success of A Grounding In Numbers, ALT is the new release from the legendary Van Der Graaf Generator.

Peter Hammill says, "Most of the music on ALT was made while we weren't really looking, or perhaps only while the left side of our collective brain was engaged. The album is a mixture of improvisations recorded at sound checks and in the studio and more considered sonic creations which often verge on Musique Concrete."

The fourteen pieces on ALT offer a fascinating glimpse into an alternative Van der Graaf Generator sound world.

Van Der Graaf Generator - The Aerosol Grey Machine (cd)

A blueprint for the future, VDGG's 1969 debut is ample testament to Peter Hammill's already apparent originality and creativity.

More acoustic and melodic than much that followed, The Aerosol Grey Machine sits between the singer-songwriter intimacy of Fool's Mate and the brooding, apocalyptic Progressive sound of The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other.

An all too often overlooked gem, this is the Fie! label digital re-master (Fie! 9116).

Van Der Graaf Generator - A Grounding In Numbers (cd)

Critically lauded on its release, A Grounding in Numbers was VDGGs 12th studio album.

Mixed by Hugh Padgham, the album possesses a clarity and depth of sound that sees the veteran VDGG cultivating its unique sound in an emphatically modern way.

Includes the graceful opener Your Time Starts Now and the muscular single Highly Strung.

Van Der Graaf Generator - Vital (double cd)

1978's live double Vital is the most rough, ready and brutal album of VDGG's career.

While still embracing the band's unique character and complexity, the album's sound and performances also reflect the tumultuous Punk dominated musical changes of the era in which it was recorded.

2005 digitally remastered double cd edition.

Van Der Graaf Generator - Still Life (cd)

Alongside Pawn Hearts and Godbluff, Still Life, from 1976, is the most celebrated release in Van Der Graaf Generator's back catalogue.

Van Der Graaf Generator - Godbluff (cd)

Godbluff, from 1975, was the first album by the reformed VDGG.

With a more direct live-room production, the album represented a fresh perspective on the band's supremely powerful and distinctive sound, last heard on the masterful Pawn Hearts.

This is the 2005 re-master and contains two live bonus tracks.

Van Der Graaf Generator - World Record (cd)

World Record, from 1976, was the third album by the re-formed VDGG.

Including the 20 minute plus Meurglys III, unflinching, epic and raw, the album remains one of the band's best.

This is the 2005 re-master and contains two John Peel show bonus tracks.
