Mick Karn

Each Eye A Path (vinyl pre-order)

The fifth solo album from bass pioneer Mick Karn (Japan) on LP for the first time. Originally released in 2001 on Medium Productions (Karn's joint venture with ex Japan colleagues Steve Jansen and Richard Barbieri), this powerfully inventive album featured Karn on vocals and a variety of exotic instruments. Steve Jansen (who mixed the album) adds some typically tasteful drum and percussion parts.

An album of mood swings - mixing darkness and light, melancholy and hope - Each Eye A Path showcases Mick Karn at his most intimate and unfettered.

180g black vinyl in a cover with original cover artwork and printed inner sleeves.

Pre-order for 7th August release.

Ozric Tentacles

Sliding Gliding Worlds (double vinyl pre-order)

Remastered double LP edition of the Ozrics classic fifth (originally cassette only) album from 1986 pressed on heavyweight (180g) vinyl.

On Sliding Gliding Worlds, Ozric Tentacles developed its sound away from Gong and Steve Hillage influenced Space Rock towards a complex, melodic blend of experimental Space Jazz and 'world music'. Standout tracks include the powerful Kick Muck (later re-recorded for Pungent Effulgent), the Afro-Beat flavoured White Rhino Tea (a new version appeared on Strangeitude in 1991), and Guzzard (which recalls the band's earlier work with its dense mix of stabbing guitar solos and synth swirls).

A confident and sophisticated album that predicts some of the directions the Ozrics would take in the 1990s.

Pre-order for 31st July release.

Jazz On A Summer's Day

Jazz On A Summer's Day (cd/dvd-v pre-order)

Jazz On A Summer's Day is considered one of the greatest jazz movies ever made.

Conceived by stills photographer Bert Stern and filmed over the four days of the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival, the movie not only captured inspired performances by some of the biggest names in jazz at the time (including Thelonious Monk, Louis Armstrong and Gerry Mulligan), but also the style and fashions of late 1950s America.

This mid-priced double disc mediabook set includes an hour long CD of music highlights from the movie (recently chosen as an all-time classic album by Mojo magazine).

Pre-order for 17th July release.
