Brand X

Missing Period / Is There Anything About? (cd pre-orders)

Missing Period contains the earliest known recordings of Brand X. Recorded between 1975-76 shortly before the release of the group's Charisma label debut, the album documents the classic Collins/Jones/Goodsall/Heyman/Lumley line-up at its most exploratory.

Mostly featuring the remarkable Phil Collins / John Giblin rhythm section and Robin Lumley and John Goodsall on keyboard and guitar duty, Is There Anything About? is the underrated swan song of the original Brand X. Playful, atmospheric, impressively dexterous and constantly searching, ITAA contains all the elements that made Brand X one of the most successful British Jazz Rock bands of the 1970s.

Pre-order for 17th February shipping.

Jack Lancaster / Robin Lumley / Rick van der Linden

Marscape / Wild Connections (cd pre-orders)

Something of a missing Brand X album, Marscape features the entirety of the band's early line-up tackling Lancaster and Lumley's instrumental concept album detailing a manned mission to Mars. Alongside the classic Phil Collins/Percy Jones rhythm section, Penguin Cafe Orchestra's Simon Jeffes contributes koto and his string quartet. More lyrical and atmospheric than typical Brand X related fare, the album also possesses its fair share of delirious Jazz Rock 'moments' and grooves.

On Wild Connections, Blodwyn Pig's Jack Lancaster and Ekseption's Rick van der Linden were joined by legendary session drummer Barry Morgan and The English Chorale for a one of a kind 1979 collaboration combining van der Linden's Symphonic Progressive past and Lancaster's Fusion leanings.

Pre-order for 17th February shipping.

The Blue Nile

Peace At Last (double cd pre-order)

A 2014 deluxe version of the Blue Nile's 1996 album, Peace At Last. Digitally remastered by Paul Buchanan and Robert Bell alongside the original engineer, Calum Malcolm.

At the time of release, the album's more organic/acoustic sound surprised many long-term fans, but further listening reveals the inimitable emotional punch of the band's best work is still found in classics such as the title track, Soon and the devastating Family Life. Packaged in a special digipak, this edition includes a bonus CD of rare mixes and unreleased tracks.

Pre-order for 3rd March release.

Here & Now

UFOasis (cd pre-order)

Here & Now's 1991 studio release was the band's last.

Fusing its Psychedelic/Space Rock root influences with Hard Rock power and funk rhythms to make a stirring sound occasionally reminiscent of late '70s Steve Hillage, in UFOasis, H&N produced a work considered amongst its very best.

The band's guitarist and bassist were later to join H&N's spiritual forebears Gong.

Pre-order for February 17th shipping.

Lightnin' Hopkins

Free Form Patterns (triple cd / vinyl pre-orders)

We have new 3CD digibook and heavyweight vinyl editions of Texas blues legend Sam Lightnin' Hopkins' solitary album for the Psychedelic imprint, International Artists. Backed by Danny Thomas and Duke Davis from the Thirteenth Floor Elevators, this cross-generational oddity stands as one of the Hopkins' greatest releases.

The digibook version comes with two bonus discs featuring previously unreleased songs, studio chatter and candid conversations with Lightnin'.

A fascinating and unique insight into Lightnin' Hopkins, the man and the musician.

Pre-order for 24th March release.
