william d drake - william d drake (cdr)
Cardiacs member Drake, assisted by Tim Smith, Terry Pitt and Jo Spratley, makes a winning case for himself as the ultimate 21st Century English eccentric.
Harmoniums, trumpets and arcane vocal harmonies inform an enchanted musicallandscape littered with references to Barrett, Ayers, Lennon, English Music Hall and Baroque Classical.
Madder and more beautiful than a box of hair and then some.

Randomly found this cd while i was at work and decided to give it a listen... What can i say?? WOW, i love this stuff, its like if syd barrett had worked in a old theatre all his life or toured with a travelling circus or something... i dont know. I think this music is really great, really inspired songwriting, great instrumentation, and a really nice english feel to it.

Quivvy vivvy.
Boskarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
William D.Drake has been spinning beautiful bows since before you were able to put a name to your demons. He is only one of a million motes of dust in the bedroom sky but be sure that he will be the one to trigger your allergies. Love him, beloved. Make room for future gluttony.
Some lickspittle from the dark room
This is sooo weird!!! The last disc on Burning Shed that gave me the same feeling of weirdness is Um's disc, way back in the beginning. English stuff (and I would say more a Cuckoo-clock than a Grandfather clock...)
