i received a copy of peter chilvers' he wrote this from burningshed.com last month. an album of double bass, chapman stick and fretless bass is always going to grab my attention but this really did grab my attention. it's more atmospherics and loops than in-your-face bass. however the track "endless pull", which for me is the highlight of the album, breaks free from the atmospherics to give you a good slap around the face. that's certainly what it felt like the first time i listened to it. a splendid album and one that i fully recommend.
