centrozoon - never trust the way you are (cd)
Centrozoon's long-awaited album with No-Man singer Tim Bowness finally arrives on Berlin-based Resonancer Records..
Recorded in Germany, Finland, Canada and the US over a three year period and featuring drum and mixing contributions from Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson), the album collects 15 pieces which for the first time capture perfectly the unique and unfettered musical chemistry of the Reuter, Woestheinrich, Bowness trio in a controlled studio environment.
A significant leap beyond last year's Scent Of Crash And Burn EP, Never Trust The Way You Are is a genre-defying fusion of Art Pop, Progressive, Electronica and ballad influences, boasting a potent combination of mellow moods, difficult beats, powerful melodies and ambitious musical experiments.
An ideal showcase for Reuter's Touch Guitar dexterity, Woestheinrich's impossible rhythms and Bowness' distinctive vocal style, Never Trust The Way You Are represents a compelling artistic highpoint for all involved.

Amazing album! It's so deep, still instantly accessible.

The new CZ album finally arrived to my home yesterday. It's an amazing work. If you believe that you know it all from the concert versions, studio outtakes and other download material, you are in trouble my friend. All of that, and it was pretty good, pales with comparison with the finished work. A must have for CZ followers, No-Man fans and Crimheads out there.

I've owned this album for four days now, and I cannot stop listening. Each time it's played, my ears 'hear' more. Magnificent! I cannot get enough! An array of textures, techtronica and pure looping ambience...the "fine-tuned" Bigger Space tantalizes one's aural senses. You guys really outdid yourselves on this one. Take a bow!

Congratulations, guys. The words 'artistic triumph' come to mind. The timbres, the vibe, the voice, the production and mastering quality, the artwork - listening to this album for the first time is an experience I won't forget. Buy copies for friends.

This is an amazing album! Centrozoon have progressed so much in the last few years. This album, music-wise, has elements of Daylight-era Darkroom, Wild Opera- and Returning Jesus-era No-man, Tim's solo album, free jazzy stuff and bits that sound like the King Crimson Projekcts. All mixed up and than thrown a good deal forward. Excellent album, well worth the wait - highly recommended
