a marble calm - surfacing (cd)

A loose collective centred around the nucleus of Peter Chilvers and reclusive marimba/vibraphone virtuoso Jon Hart, A Marble Calm's debut release is an ambitious collection combining textural instrumentals and drifting songscapes. Featuring Burning Shed regulars Tim Bowness, Sandra O'Neill and Theo Travis and clocking in at 74 minutes long, the album distinctively blends influences from Contemporary Classical (Gorecki/Pärt), ECM Jazz, Sigur Rós and the ambient songwriting of Sylvian, Eno and No-Man.

"Sandra O'Neill's singing on Gillian Welch's "I Dream a Highway" is heart-meltingly beautiful. I think this song deserves a new category - something like 'future country'. More, soon, please!" - Brian Eno

a marble calm - submerging flutes

bass communion - bass communion 1 (cd)

Bass Communion is the name SW gives to recordings he has been making since 1994 in an ambient and/or electronic vein. Most of the pieces are experiments in texture and are generated from processing recordings of real instrumental performances. This is the first CD from 1998 including a 25 minute piece based on Robert Fripp's soundscapes.

bass communion - bass communion 2 (single cd)

A reissue of the second Bass Communion CD from 1999 on Steven Wilson's Headphone Dust label. The first edition of this album came with a bonus CD containing a piece based on a Robert Fripp sample and a remix by The Square Root of Sub. This reissue is a single CD, but with the Robert Fripp piece added as a bonus track to the original album, bringing it up to about 72 minutes in length.

bass communion - ghosts on magnetic tape (double cd)

Now repressed as a double disc including the full length Andrew Liles reconstruction, which SW described as being "even creepier than the original!", this is the third full length album by SW's Bass Communion project and is a one hour work divided into 5 distinct sections. The album is inspired by alleged tape recordings of the dead communicating with the living world, paranormal research most famously practised by scientist Konstantine Raudive in the 1970's. This is a spectral and brooding album, rich with dark clouds of sound, beautiful textures, creepy drones and eerie crackling. It is housed in a beautiful Japanese style thick card gatefold mini LP sleeve. SW considers this to be one of the finest recordings he has ever made.

jansen / barbieri / karn - ism (cd)

The first album to feature the ex Japan trio working as a unit. Weird

no-man - all that you are (cd ep)

The second EP drawn from 'Returning Jesus' , featuring four previously unreleased tracks.

no-man - lost songs: volume one (cdr)

Featuring 'Flowermouth'-era contributions from Robert Fripp, 'Lost Songs: Volume One' is a 14 track, 60 minute collection of previously unreleased material dating from 1991-97 - flawed, but no longer ignored.'

no-man - returning jesus (cd)

No-Man's fourth album, released in 2001, is the band's most ambitious and timeless to date and features a more organic band sound than heard on previous releases.

Uniquely and effortlessly combining disparate influences from chamber jazz and classical musics to experimental pop and singer-songwriter intimacy, Returning Jesus ranks as the finest achievement in the band's decade long career.

no-man - Schoolyard Ghosts (CD/DVDA)

A distinctive combination of beautifully detailed songwriting, haunting melodies and inventively cinematic production, Schoolyard Ghosts sees No-Man’s Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson expanding the band's sonic palette by collaborating with, amongst others, Theo Travis, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison, and the London Session Orchestra (arranged by Dave Stewart).

Featuring the sweetly hypnotic Wherever There Is Light, the warped dynamics of Pigeon Drummer, and the subtly evolving explorations of the uplifting 13 minute semi-orchestral epic Truenorth, Schoolyard Ghosts reveals the band taking its music to an even more focused and personalised place than before.

Available as a lavish digipack CD/DVDA, black double vinyl and limited coloured vinyl with bonus 7 inch disk.

porcupine tree - the sky moves sideways remastered edition (digipack double CD)

PT's 1995 album is regarded by many fans as their crafted progressive rock masterpiece. Spanning the period when the band went from being SW's solo project to a full band the album centres around the two halves of the 35 minute title track, an incredible journey full of melancholic vocals, long liquid solos, spacious textures and dynamic instrumental passages. This special edition is expanded into an epic double CD with the original album as conceived for vinyl on CD1 (real drums replacing the sampled drums on two of the tracks). CD2 contains an alternate version of the title track containing music that was eventually cut from the final album version as well as different lyrics, and EP tracks Stars Die and the 21 minute Moonloop on CD2. These three bonus tracks alone run to over an hour of extra music.New edition on Snapper Music in fold out
