bass communion - bass communion 2 (single cd)

A reissue of the second Bass Communion CD from 1999 on Steven Wilson's Headphone Dust label. The first edition of this album came with a bonus CD containing a piece based on a Robert Fripp sample and a remix by The Square Root of Sub. This reissue is a single CD, but with the Robert Fripp piece added as a bonus track to the original album, bringing it up to about 72 minutes in length.

Bass Communion is the name SW gives to recordings he has been making since 1994 in an ambient and/or electronic vein. Most of the pieces are experiments in texture and are generated from processing recordings of real instrumental performances.

The quality and the versity of the sound within this album is amazing. It is a somewhat happier album in comparisation with the later albums of Bass Comunnion. Pretty good while sleeping too.

This album reminds us all of all the beauty in the world. Itīs amazing, how some people can express them selves this way. Thereīs so much more beyond everyday life and Mr. Wilson has his unique way to show us that, one donīt need drugs to enjoy that all.

Absolutely stunning. This album is wonderfully soothing. 500% improvment on the first BC album. With such good flow, and nice artwork to match. If GOMT wasn't in the picture, this would be my favourite BC album ever. But still if i'm not looking for something creepy, this always fits the bill to relax to.

This album is spooky, adventurous and downright infectious. It transports you to other dimensions. Say no more. Dream your little heart out.

Some of the soundscapes are absolutely stunning! 'Drugged' sends a shiver down my spine every time. Mesmerising ambient brilliance

cet album est un monument de musique planante et sombre, beau comme la nuit

I have seen a version of this CD for sale that only lists 6 tracks ending with wide open killingfield. It does not specifically list the Robert Fripp bonus track. How can I tell if the CD really has the bonus track before buying it? the UPC code is 604388449620.

This is one of the best done Ambient/electronic albums I ve heard. It is clear that S Wilson is influenced by many different types of musicians of this genre. I think there are too many to mention here. The best achievement in my view is the way the music flows throughout the album. Opening with a good advert. Then continuing with such carefully designed pieces that will leave the listener very content with owning it. Of good mention is the work of Theo Travis, a very underrated flute/clarinet player.
