King Crimson’s Tony Levin added bass/chapman stick to two of the album's six songs, and the multi-tracks were mixed by ace Zurich-based percussionist/producer Andi Pupato (Nik Bartsch’s Ronin).
From the elegiac opener Towards The Shore to the 5/4 groove of Criminal Caught In The Crime, the quartet combines its collective influences - singer-songwriter, electronica/ambient and European jazz - with gracefully empathetic performances.

A Bowness song put through The Curator's demented 'arrangement mangle', the piece features some flamboyant piano (the ghost of Liberace), atypical backing vocals, and evokes aspects of early 1970s David Bowie (Space Oddity / Aladdin Sane) and the more acoustic Tim Bowness solo work.

terry stamp - bootlace johnnie and the ninety-nines (cd)
Intense, poetic, earthy and emotive, the astonishing 'Bootlace Johnnie and the Ninety-Nines' contained the first new recordings for nearly 30 years of songs by Terry Stamp and Jim Avery (the songwriters at the heart of uncompromisingly political 1970s cult band Third World War).
Sensitively guided by the inventive production and playing of Alistair Murphy, 'Bootlace Johnnie' was a potent reminder of Terry Stamp's highly individual voice and lyrical style.
Occasionally recalling the likes of Tom Waits, Kevin Coyne and Van Morrison, Stamp's songs carve a highly distinctive path of their own.
terry stamp - howling for the highway home (cd)
Terry Stamp followed his acclaimed Burning Shed debut 'Bootlace Johnnie and the Ninety-Nines' (Uncut's 'Americana Album Of The Month' and Daily Mirror's 'Album Of The Week') with 'Howling for the Highway Home', which featured twelve evocative narrative-driven songs from the former leader of 1970s cult band Third World War (TWW).
Along with covers and name-checks from Marc Almond and Paul Weller and an article in Classic Rock, 'Howling for the Highway Home' was yet another strong addition to the growing reputation of this underrated and influential singer-songwriter.

Shifting from acoustic intimacy to metallic rage and from raga to dark electronics, Alessandro Monti's debut release as Unfolk combines unorthodox music for mandolin, with ethnic percussion, violin and a variety of guitars/electronic processes.

Unavailable since 2000, 'World Of Bright Futures', Tim Bowness's 1999 album with Samuel Smiles (Mike Bearpark, Peter Chilvers, Myke Clifford) is now available as an exclusive Burning Shed download.
Taking its cue from the timeless and sensuous late night ambience of John Martyn and the Blue Nile, and occasionally drawing from the darker terrain of Peter Hammill and Mark Eitzel, the album offers eight original compositions and two cover versions (Hammill's 'Ophelia' and King Crimson's 'Two Hands').
Featuring Sandra O'Neill, Tony Harn, and Porcupine Tree's Colin Edwin and Steven Wilson, World of Bright Futures is awash with cheap drum machines and high emotions, digital hardware and human heartache.

martin grech - the heritage (cd single)
Critically lauded Maltese/English singer-songwriter Martin Grech returns with 'The Heritage', the first single taken from his forthcoming album, ‘March Of The Lonely’ (which will be released in June).
Martin first entered the public consciousness when his debut single, the haunting falsetto track ‘Open Heart Zoo’, was used by Lexus cars in a TV advertising campaign in 2002. The track, written by Martin when he was only 19 years old, proved a sizable hit when released on Interscope through Island Records, and a debut album of the same name followed. Produced by Andy Ross, the album brought favourable comparisons with the intensity and vision of Radiohead, Talk Talk and Nine Inch Nails, and the dynamics and depth of Porcupine Tree and Jeff Buckley.
In 2005, Martin Grech released his second album ‘Unholy’, which despite taking a darker and more experimental turn, met with even greater critical acclaim, being hailed in some quarters as one of the albums of the year.
Steeped in acoustic influences such as Crosby, Stills & Nash, Johnny Cash and Simon & Garfunkel, 'The Heritage' is the first taste from what will surely come to be regarded as Martin’s most important work to date, 'The March Of The Lonely'.
