21st century schizoid band - official bootleg volume one (cd)

Originally intended as a unique souvenir of the 21st Century Schizoid Band's 2002 world tour, 'Official Bootleg Volume One' is now available exclusively from Burning Shed.

Recorded 'as live' at Mark Angelo Studios in West London 2 days prior to its debut performance at the Canterbury Fayre Festival at the end of August this year, 'Official Bootleg Volume One' has previously only been available at the 21st Century Schizoid Band's shows in the UK and Japan.

Involving the talents of past Crimson legends, Michael Giles, Ian McDonald, Mel Collins and Peter Giles, along with former 64 Spoons/Level 42 member Jakko Jacszyk, the CD finds the band performing classic King Crimson material with sensitivity and skill. Featuring 7 songs taken from the
current live set, the music remains true to the spirit of the original pieces, while also leaving space for distinctive re-interpretation (the haunting 'Formentera Lady', in particular).

1. A Man A City
2. Catfood
3. In the Court Of The Crimson King
4. Formetera Lady

What a surprise when i saw this cd, in a Well known Megastore, in Paris !! I could not believed the old Crimson's members getting back together.....a really great thank You guys for this album, i've been waiting for years to hear thoses masterpieces with a great production... but, where is EPITAPH, my favorite Kc song ? maybe, and i hope, and the Official Bootleg volume 2 :)))

Cyril from Paris

Excellent and about time!!! How about doing Flight of the Ibis and Under the Sky on Vol. 2.

Graham Sumner

I'm just happy that this band has come together; this CD is impressively good - excellent sound quality and refreshing new takes on old songs. Those of us who just missed the original and best King Crimson lineup are awaiting a tour to the USA. Will it happen? Or are Ian and Michael still haunted by the ghost of 1969? I hope not! They'll be more than welcome here anytime!

Kirk Knighton

Wow,great album! This is pure brilliance! What a great idea to go back tothe time when music was an adventure and skill and improvisation were possible to show! One CD is not quite enough for me. I want more! Thank you ,burning Shed, for selling this gem. I hope they will bring a new album out soon. But I doudt it because no news has been added since 8 November 2002. Did they split up? A triple bravo to the 5 players on this album, though I miss the guitar of Fripp a little bit. Sorry Jakko you really did a great job!

Hans Brinkman

You've got to make it to the US, this very well could be the highlight of 2003. Also, do you accept US currency?????

Rick Ray

in my opinion the tracks that work the best are formentera lady and ladies of the road. schizoid man was a bit bland

can I buy 21CSB from kentucky(USA)? if so what is the cost in American dollars, inc. shipping/handling fees? Haven't heard it yet butcould imagine how good. thanks

sam basile

This gives a very good idea of how great they sounded when I saw them. I only wish they'd put out a 2 CD set because everything on this single disc is terrific!

Matt Drew

I watched the show at Osaka Japan, but couldn't get this CD because it was sold out. By all means I want this one. I am extremely impressed by the show.

NAOTO MIZOGUCHI (JPN)

Sounds as good as they sounded on tour. Complements and adds to the Crimson originals. Their commitment to, and enjoyment of playing, this music is most apparent. Can't wait for Volume 2

John Critten

I want top buy this CD. (21st century schizoid band - official bootleg) Please let me know how to buy by "easy" English. Thank you.

Hirotaka Sano (from JPN)

If this CD is even half as good as they were live, then it will be well worth buying.

Tim Hooper

I witnessed the incredible musicianship at the Canterbury Fayre debut. What these guys (the REAL King Crimson)do will be great.

Tree (Michigan, US)

Four old Crimson players + new Jakko perform old Crimson pieces in a way I have dreamed for years, especially 21st century schizoid with two alto saxes is woth the Cd. If only they create new music in their own style...

Excellent musicianship; tracks tightly played with energy. Not as powerful as the live set but a CD must nonetheless. Buy it and encourage the band to record something new and go back on tour!
