The Angel & The Dark River is the third album by the British Doom Metal band, My Dying Bride.

This was arguably the release that saw the band travel furthest from their Death Metal origins, and provided the fullest expression of the Doom Metal side of their music.

My Dying Bride originate from Bradford and have been together since 1990.

Within the international metal scene, press & fans alike hail MDB as the Godfathers of Doom Metal.

In the 90's the band made a succession of videos that featured heavily on MTV's metal show Headbangers Ball. They have played many tours around Europe & America. Their highest profile tour was a three-month stint around Europe with Iron Maiden in 1995.

Other notable artists that they have played with include Cathedral, Katatonia & DIO. 2002 saw the band play most of the metal festivals in central Europe, including Waken, Bospop & Graspop.
