Madder Mortem originally formed in 1993 as Mystery Tribe.
Desiderata is the Norwegian’s fourth album, but their debut for Peaceville.
The album was recorded in 2004 at Space Valley Studios (owned by Mr Zet from Ram-Zet). Due to problems with their old label, the band had to sit on the release until they decamped to Peaceville in 2005. To give the album a fresh sound it was re-mastered at Tailor Maid Studios in Sweden by Peter In De Betou in September 2005.
Desiderata is full of beautiful soundscapes, brutal riffs and eerie moods, side by side with the gift of good song writing. Agnete’s vocals have rarely sounded so unique, powerful, or haunting.
