Rightly regarded as Katatonia's masterpiece, The Great Cold Distance is now released in a special package including the original album, with two bonus tracks (‘Displaced’ & ‘Dissolving Bonds’), and a second disc containing a 5.1 channel mix of the album, for the optimal audio experience.

After a successful European and US tour, including many festival appearances throughout the year, not to mention the European chart-placed singles released in 2006 in support of the album, Katatonia have been greeted with universal acclaim and are one of the largest bands in the gothic rock/metal genre today, with their dark,deeply emotional, but still at times crushingly heavy sound.
