Thanks Gavin for all the knowledge and inspiration You give to me. This dvd has opened new doors to my rhythmic vision... and now I can enjoy more and more all the work you're performing with PT.

I saw Gavin Harrison 'kickin ass' with Porcupine Tree at the Bristol Bier Keller in 2005. I have to have this DVD!
Mark Currie
Gavin Harrison has been a great inspiration to me in the year I've been playing the drums, and I find myself having come a long way in a short while. I'm very interested in this DVD, seems like it could teach me a lot. I hope it comes into stock soon!

I have the dvd and both of his books. Gavin is incredible. He plays so smooth and effortless making things look so simple. If you like to be challenged, than this is for you. He makes the concepts seem easy but the application will drive you nuts. ie: Displacing a beat by a 24th note and knowing where 1 is......insane
Tom Reardon
The coolest thing about this DVD (and his books) is that it show you stuff that can sound really impressive without the need for blinding speed or chops behind the drumset. Not that this stuff is easy to play! Strip the Soul and Sound of Muzak contain good examples of what he talks about in this DVD. You get the impression that jazz is his first love, which probably explains the smooth, clean style that he brings to PT and other rock stuff. A truly well-rounded musican, and an inspiring drummer.

This is a tricky title. On the one hand - I agree with the reviews by the two Daves :) since this DVD has some incredible information and performance that with hard work will improve every drummer's performance and sense of rhythm. I even use the ideas shared here on my Darbukkah, a midlle-eastern hand drum (divisions and illusions). One can even recognize some trade-mark GH phrases such as those on PTree's Sound of Muzak, Strip the Soul and even (dare I say) Futile!! On the other hand, he is so flawless in his demonstrations that it just drives me crazy!! ;) as my son who is also learning drums asked me once: "Do you think I will E-V-E-R play this good in my life...?"

Geez. Friggin' guy starts with a 4/4 groove, subdivides it into sevenths and then alternates bass/snare hits on every *sixth* beat while never losing sight of the underlaying quarter-note feel. Inhuman.

Gavin is the man!!! This is a dvd that gives information that is beyond money value.I hope him the best!
