Faceless

The debut album by Faceless (thomas albrighton - keyboards, alistair cormack - more keyboards) issued in 1995. Nine tracks of “everything from mystical medieval chants through to gently pacifying melodies" according to a review at the time. “Achievement” is an ambient, instrumental album featuring big dub beats, sub bass and soothing melodies but with an added twist (think: instrumental Portishead). After hearing the lush textures, it is all the more astonishing to learn that it was recorded on a 4-track portastudio.
