Sounding like Darkroom's acid-soaked older brother, Factory Days is a 25 minute improvised piece.

Recorded live during a support to The Durutti Column in June 2006, this marked the first time Tim Bowness (vocals, vocal loops), Alistair Murphy (organ, analogue synth) and Andy Butler (guitar, guitar loops) had played together.

Organ drones, cosmic synths and treated guitar solos abound. Echoes of early Pink Floyd and Ashra creep into a digital-age loop experience, and an England football megaphone is put to use outside of shouting, "Come on, Crouchy!"

The title comes from an after show comment when a drunken member of the audience approached Tim and said, "Vini, you were great man. I haven't seen you since your Factory days."

Mistaken identity has rarely been so mistaken.

A random example of the songs written by Tim Bowness and Alistair Murphy/The Curator between 2006 and 2010, Everything You're Not is scheduled to appear on Postcards From Space's debut album.

A Bowness song put through The Curator's demented 'arrangement mangle', the piece features some flamboyant piano (the ghost of Liberace), atypical backing vocals, and evokes aspects of early 1970s David Bowie (Space Oddity / Aladdin Sane) and the more acoustic Tim Bowness solo work.

Three years in the making, the new Wizards of Twiddly album, 'People With Purpose' features material penned since the band reconvened in 2004, as well as material first aired on the band's live appearances with Kevin Ayers in the mid 1990's.

The 'beast' to Fireships 'beauty', The Noise was the first and only entry in Peter Hammill's 'A Loud' series.

The Noise finds PH on harder hitting and more Rock-orientated form than usual and, in some ways, acts as a 1990s extension of his earlier work with the K Group.

Originally released in 1992, Fireships was the first release on Peter Hammill's own Fie! Records label and was also the first (and last!) release in the 'BeCalm' series.

Operating at the gentler and more introspective end of PH's output, Fireships is one of the most melodic and highly regarded albums of his long and varied career.

Deemed too cheerful by half to take its place on the otherwise dark In Absentia album, this track was later pitched (unsuccessfully) to film production companies. Written by SW, and recorded at Avatar Studios, New York during the IA album sessions.

Thin Air is Peter Hammill’s twenty-eighth solo album of original songs and follows an eventful few years (a heart attack in December 2003 and a hugely successful Van der Graaf Generator reunion in 2004).

Singularity, his last solo work, was released in 2006 and was acclaimed as Peter's most innovative and important release since his late 70s/early 80s masterpieces, The Future Now and A Black Box.

A fascinating and mature addition to Peter’s brilliant body of work.

Recorded on 18 June 2008 at the Pizza Express, Dean St, London, W1, Ascending provides a powerful and evocative snapshot of one of Britain's finest Modern Jazz quartets at work.

Many view Nemeton's "Remix 2", the last track on The DAC Mixes, as amongst the highlights of the album. "Remix 2" was picked as being the best of the four remixes submitted by Nemeton, but it was a close call as the band considered all of them excellent.

Rather than have these tracks languishing, unheard, on the Darkroom hard drive, the band decided to put these out as a free download and a subtle advertisement for the original 'The DAC Mixes' album itself (which featured mixes and contributions from Bass Communion, Tim Bowness, Theo Travis, Peter Chilvers and Centrozoon, amongst others).

Differing from all previously released versions and dating from March 1994, this free download is the first known demo of Lighthouse, and provides a fascinating insight into the genesis of the popular Returning Jesus track (the song was eventually issued with a vastly expanded arrangement and an altered lyric in 2001).

'Failure Of The Grand Design' is The Resonance Association's debut album for Burning Shed.

Clocking in at just under 55 minutes, the album consists of nine dark and ambitious instrumentals (described by the band as being an 'ambient-techno-goth-prog crossover') , and includes a new version of live favourite 'Electrolyte'.

Echoes of Porcupine Tree, Coil, Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Sunn O))) and Neu! grace the album's powerful mixture of electronic atmospherics, soaring guitar solos and fractured motorik rhythms.

'Blue Dawn' is the latest collection by acclaimed British composer, Andrew Keeling.

Andrew's second release on Burning Shed (following 'Reclaiming Eros'), 'Blue Dawn' represents the more meditative and spiritual side of Andrew's work and includes performances by Holland's 3-Orm, Scottish-based ensemble TripleSec, theorboist Matthew Wadsworth and pianist Steven Wray.

A piece from 1992, 'Distant Skies, Mountains and Shadows', is placed alongside more recent works: 'Mirare for theorbo', 'Petit Requiem pour Basil' for narrator, flute and piano and 'Blue Dawn' for solo piano.

Only a few months after the release of the acclaimed Fear of a Blank Planet album comes this mini album (29 minutes of music) containing 4 lengthy tracks written during the same sessions, completed over the Summer, and now presented as a cohesive self contained PT work in their own right. The title track is an instrumental featuring Robert Fripp on lead guitar, and the whole EP moves through the full PT spectrum of atmospheric ambience, melodic hooks, and crushing riffs.
