Coming six years after his debut, The Beautiful Trustful Future (Fire Records, 2008), is David Hurn's second full album of songs.

Blending rich melodies with insightful narratives, this collection of eleven songs forms a confident and potent follow up to He Was a Woman, and demonstrates Hurn's evolution as both a performer and a songwriter of assured complexity.

Shimmering layers of sound, elegantly constructed utilising a range of instruments from acoustic guitars to vibraphone and flutes, create an expressive counterpoint to the often bitingly amusing lyrics.

The Man Who Stayed In Bed Forever (Fire Records 2008) and its companion track Your Husband and My Disappointment, combines finely crafted contemporary poetry and lush musical arrangements with wit and acute observations; visceral writing from the heart, to the heart.
