Recorded in London in 1967, Jet Propelled Photographs is a re-issue of the first recordings made by one the U.K.'s seminal psychedelic and Canterbury bands.
Originally intended as demos for the group's projected first album, the musical importance and historic significance of these recordings is undisputed, representing as they do the only recordings made by the group's original line-up of Robert Wyatt, Daevid Allen, Kevin Ayers and Mike Ratledge.
'Jet Propelled Photographs shows why The Soft Machine sounded comfortable alongside Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd. A rough curio, but high on the list for Canterbury connoisseurs.' ('The Rough Guide To Rock').
